Acknowledgement of Country: Before we begin the meeting, I would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners, both past and present, of the land we occupy and upon which we meet — the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. It is also upon their ancestral lands that Alfalfa House is built.

2. Volunteer discounts

That the decision made at item 20 at the MC meeting of 26 June 2019 be amended by:

  1. omitting "the permanent volunteer discount and staff discount be reduced from 25% to 20% and",
  2. omitting "other",
  3. adding "and staff" between "volunteer" and "discounts", and
  4. omitting "15%" and substituting "20%"

so that the decision as amended reads:

"That all volunteer and staff discounts be reduced from 25% to 20%. Member discounts are to remain at 10%."

Moved: Stephen Catt

Seconded: Bruce Diekman

Carried by consensus

3. Volunteer Co-ordinator position

Discussion of what needs to be done now that Estefania has indicated her intention to resign. Assistant Manager has been asked by Allie to familiarise herself with the requirements of the position. Casual hours for half of the position envisaged by Allie for the short term. Allocation of MC responsibilities volunteered as follows:

  • Membership -- Bruce, with Tom for IT aspects;
  • Events – Cam;
  • Volunteers – Steve.

4. Allie's issue

Discussion, including of financial position of AH. With latest changes projections indicated that AH will likely be about $2,000 per month better than break even.

Agreed that Allie was entitled to engage more casuals to have a larger pool to draw on.

5. Steve Catt's position

Steve said that he would be away for 3 months from September to November and that he felt that was not consistent with him continuing to be Secretary or MC member, and accordingly he would eventually have to resign. A new Secretary and a new MC member would have to be found. Steve was willing to help transition the new people into their roles.
